Domaine Santa Duc is one of the reference points of winemaking in Gigondas as well as one of the model estates in the southern Rhone. The Duke of Gigon-das is the irreplaceable Yves Gras, the 4th generation of winemakers at the property, whose aspiration is to forge an identity for this Medieval appellation to sets it apart from all of its neighbours. The domain has 13 ha in Gigondas and 10 ha in the Rhone Villages wine appellations of Rasteau, Cairanne and Sablet. The range of Gigondas cuvées at Domaine Santa Duc includes the Cuvée Tradition and Les Hautes Garrigues (made in only the best vintages).

TASTING NOTE
In search of a wine combining freshness and minerality, the Famille Gras favors plots located on limestone soils and north facing. Les Grands Calcaires is a blend of the typical grape varieties of the Rhone Valley, offering fresh aromas and acidity.
Les Grands Calcaires is a refreshing white wine with mineral notes, peach marmalade, honeysuckle, citrus fruits as well as a nice acidity on the finish.

An easy drinking delicious southern Rhône wine to be enjoyed with friends. The wine offer beautiful aromas of red berries, fine herbs, roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Smooth and round body with good concentration. Very enjoying and long finish.

Made from vines older than 50 years. Beautiful smell with strawberries, raspberries and dark chocolate. Very lust on the palate with many flavours. Great fruit, lively acid, full body and silky tannin. good long finish.

Robert Parker, “The 2016 Gigondas Aux Lieux Dits had been blended at the time of my visit, but not yet bottled. It looks reassuringly close to how I remember it from last year, with pronounced garrigue notes joined by hints of licorice and blackberries. It’s full-bodied, creamy textured and supple , with a long, velvety finish.”
Jancis Robinson, “Understated nose but wonderfully ripe raspberry fruit on the palate with a sophisticated, feathered tannic feel and loads of length on the finish. Not the most complex wine as of yet, but has the substance and fruit quality to age well.”
