DENAVOLO

Denavolo was founded in 2005 when Giulio Armani, winemaker at natural wine stalwart La Stoppa, acquired a beautiful old organic vineyard in the hills of Piacenza 400-500 metres high above sea level. There, the soil has clay and limestone. Then in 2007 and 2008, he has planted his owned parcels much higher (500 to 600 meters high) where the soil is very stony with more chalk to produce a young, fruity and light white wine, Catavela. Grapes planted are Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, Ortugo, Marsanne, Trebbiano and very little Santa Maria and Sauvignon blanc. The work in the vineyard follows the organic viticulture practices to express this special terroir.
