HENRY PELLÉ
Loire (France)
“Henri Pellé is Menetou-Salon’s finest producer.” Robert Parker’s Wine Buyer’s Guide, 6th edition
Known as a pioneer of the Menetou-Salon appellation, Domaine Pellé embodies its success. With 40 hectares, it is also one of the most important landowners in this small Loire Valley region located just west of Sancerre. Menetou has earned recognition as one of the best sources of refreshing Sauvignon Blanc. Pellé’s vineyards are located in the prime growing areas around the village of Morogues, thereby yielding wines of superior concentration, minerality and brisk acidity.

Les Bornes blanc 2023
TASTING NOTE
This is a blend of grapes from different plot rich with Kimmeridgian marl in the
Menetou-Salon, a village just south of the famous Sancerre with very simliar soil
and climate. Pelle is the driving force of the surging reputation of this beautiful
region. Their wines are known for it’s liveliness and energy.
Jancis Robinson, “Pure, light nose. Lots of fine fruit. Juicy. More fruity than mineral.
Crisp and well defined.”

Les Blanchais blanc 2022
TASTING NOTE
Its terroir provides its strength and its exposure provides its freshness. At the start
of the 1980’s, a passion for the vine inspired Domaine Pellé to separately vinify
their premier clos: les blanchais. They believed that the complexity of the land is
reflected in the wine. These old vines deliver power and length in both the nose and
on the palate. Citrus fruit and vegetal notes gently mingle with a subtle minerality
without ever being too heavy or exuberant. A bottle that only improves with age!

Sancerre la croix au garde rouge 2022
TASTING NOTE
For several generations, the Pellé family has been working the vineyard to produce
authentic, quality wines.
Planted on “caillotes” (pebbles), this vine produces a wine imbued with freshness.
Crisp fruit prevails, typical of Pinot Noir; a delicate expression creating a delicious
wine. The estate has made a real selection of terroirs, which undoubtedly gives a
mineral side to this Pinot Noir.

Le Carroir rouge 2021
TASTING NOTE
For several generations, the Pellé family has been working the vineyard to produce
authentic, quality wines.
This unique sand and flint terroir within the appellation, planted by Henry Pellé in
1976, imparts a lively, austere texture to the wine. The juices are refined,
understated and powerful; exciting bottles to store at the back of your cellar. be enjoyed young but are often even better three or more years after their release.

Les Cris rouge 2014
TASTING NOTE
This is a special late cellar release directly from the domaine. A ripe Loire Pinot Noir
that is at its peak!
The Cris plot is a monopoly of the estate, it is located above the cellar, it is planted
exclusively with Pinot Noir. The first vines were planted by Henry Pellé in 1960. The
exposure is from east to west, which gives us differences in ripeness resulting in a
harvest lasting a week. Les Cris offers us a Pinot Noir of beautiful density where the
tannic structure and chalky minerality blend wonderfully with the fruit.
