RUDOLF FÜRST

BÜRGSTADTER BERG CHARDONNAY 1ER 2017

TASTING NOTE

A rarity from Rudolf Fürst because of the minuscule production. This is a German Chardonnay made in a burgundian style. Elegant and beautiful nose of fine wood, spice and ripe fruit. On the palate, it is smooth and round; yet light and elegant with precise acidity. The balance is super with long great finish. A wine with huge potential.

KLINGENBERGER SPÄTBURGUNDER 2016

TASTING NOTE

Wine Spectator, “Shows a bit of density, with a burst of violet that picks up hints of earth and graphite midpalate, surrounding the core of cranberry and rose flavors. The minerality lingers on the finish. Balanced and moderately long. Drink now through 2027. 250 cases made.”

Jancis Robinson, “Sweet and a light note of vanilla pod and cinnamon. Sharply etched red fruit packed into a case of wood-brushed tannins. Lovely fruit but oak is upfront at the moment and not (yet) letting it shine. Mouth-drawing acidity. Refreshingly sharp. Fine, with a confident finish. ”

BÜRGSTADTER BERG SPÄTBURGUNDER 1ER 2016

TASTING NOTE

Wine Spectator, “A spicy fragrance complements the ripe plum and cassis flavors in this flamboyant Spätburgunder. Lively, rich and concentrated, with soft tannins that emerge in the end. Best from 2020 through 2027. 300 cases made”

Jancis Robinson, “Spicy and lifted and a gossamer-thin veil of acetone. Then sweet fruit, sweet, ripe, shapely cherry fruit followed quickly by a wave of acidity and then reined in neatly by leather-scented tannins. Sous bois and forest floor and autumn weaving in through incredibly pretty, dancing, red wild-berry fruit. ”

CENTGRAFENBERG SPÄTBURGUNDER GG 2017

TASTING NOTE

Jancis Robinson, “The Centgrafenberg may never exhibit the power of the Schlossberg or the intensity of the Hundsrück, but it never fails to delight with its subtlety and elegance. Tea-chest and fine tobacco add a spicy piquancy to the generous fruit of blackberries and cherries. A gentle herbal touch fits seamlessly into the overall sensory conception. A role model of aesthetics.”

SCHLOSSBERG SPÄTBURGUNDER GG 2017

TASTING NOTE

Jancis Robinson, “The barrique-derived aromas of sandalwood and clove may still be dominant at this infant stage but cannot entirely subdue the enticing fragrance of dark berry fruit. Fortunately on the palate the wood is not overpowering and, despite the prominent presence of tannins, still leaves enough room for plums and black cherries to establish their credentials. Juicy acidity, a hint of smoky bacon and some fine spicy nuances adorn the impressive finish. ”
